A Girl Can Change Her Mind

Obviously, I've changed the template for our blog. I've always liked dots and I love how this template is colorful thoughout the page - not just the top. This was my first choice when I first started the bog, but I know several people that use it. Now I don't care. I wish I knew how to design a custom template - none of them really suit me!

Easter

We thought we were going to have a lonely Easter Sunday at home. Saturday evening we got an invitation from Nathan's childhood friend, Brandon, to spend Easter with his family at his parent's house. Brandon lives not far from us and we have recently spent some time with his family. They have a girl Samantha's age, a girl Gillian's age and a boy Elliot's age. They all get along so well! Easter was really nice. There were a lot of kids to play with - Brandon's parents planned a big egg hunt for all of them. Henry was so funny. He was told to find only the blue eggs with no stickers on them. He checked every blue egg and announced "no stickers!" when he found one of his. The house was amazing! The basement was the same size as our entire house in Arizona - complete with a movie theater with stadium seating, soda machine, game room, candy machines, fooseball, air hockey and a bar to eat at. Our kids didn't want to leave! It's pretty cool how we ended up living near Brandon and that our kids like each other so much.

Egg Dying

Dying our eggs was a quiet event this year since we couldn't go to my parent's house for the big egg-dying party. But we still got the job done! Afterwards we went out to eat with the Jolley's in our ward. We tried a place called the Citrus Grill. Yummy!

I love the 70's

Now that we've added a microwave and our stove from our house in Arizona, we decided to buy a stainless steel diswasher to match. When Nathan pulled out the old dishwasher, it revealed the original vinyl that was probably put in the house when it was built in 1979. I love it! It would totally go well with the green walls and dark brown cabinets that I'm going to paint in the kitchen. Too bad it's been covered with ugly ceramic tile! It's really been interesting discovering things that have been covered up over time in this old house.

Pancakes

The kids started spring recess Thursday. I woke up that morning when the kids came in my room with a plate full of pancakes. I was so confused! I kept rubbing my eyes to see if what I was looking at was real. The kids actually made pancakes all by themselves - and they were good! They found a recipe in one of my cookbooks and made them from scratch. I realized that I don't give my girls enough credit. I still treat them like little kids. I bet they can do more than I think they can. I'll try letting them do their own hair, more cooking in the kitchen and definitely harder chores!

What the?!

This is something that I've probably only seen once or twice in my life!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Elliot wore this hat to school. I totally forgot to wear green that day! We did, however, have homemade green bread, green kool-aid and broccoli soup for dinner. Our dinner didn't get pinched!

Snow......Again?

It snowed again last Saturday. We got about 4 inches! The kids got to really get their hands in it this time with a snowball fight and a snow angel or two. Then they came in and warmed up by the fire while I made some hot chocolate. A perfect cold Utah night!

Helping Dad

Henry saw daddy putting our new bed together, so he went to his room and got his tools. It didn't take him long to realize that his toy drill wasn't quite doing the trick, so dad let him have a go with the real drill. We love the new bed!

Only in Utah...

This morning on the way to pick Elliot up from school, I was listening to the radio and the announcer said, "No one likes a frowny face, change it for a smile. Make the world a better place by setting Jack on your radio dial." Only in Utah!
